Invitation to be a National Focal Point for the Transport and Climate Change Global Status Report (TCC-GSR)

The Global Mobility Transformation needs YOU!

The Partnership on Sustainable, Low Carbon Transport (SLoCaT) is lead on the Transport and Climate Change Global Status Report (TCC-GSR), a flagship report on climate change and transport. The first TCC-GSR 2018 covered various data-sets (e.g. passenger and freight volumes, CO2 emissions by transport, future projections and various data-sets to support measurement of progress on sustainable transport) and had over 180 policies from 70 countries. The first TCC-GSR was downloaded nearly 2,000 times reaching people in over 95 countries. Findings of the report were used at the Climate Change Conference COP24, Transforming Transportation among others.

SLoCaT is ramping up the second iteration of the TCC-GSR 2020, which is intended to include more data and more policies and thus, we want to establish a global network of national focal points of the TCC-GSR. The national focal points are local or regional experts that volunteer to provide information about a certain country or region (e.g. walking and cycling in Ethiopia, e-mobility in Latin America etc.). Their contribution will be acknowledged by including their names and organisation in the acknowledgement section of the next TCC-GSR.

Further, any data shared will be included in the Transport Knowledge Base (TraKB), SLoCaT's central database that combines available data on sustainable transport. The TraKB is being published together with the TCC-GSR, making most of the data accessible to readers and policy-makers.

We need YOU as national focal point!

We are aiming to recruit national focal points on an ongoing basis with major activities being conducted in early 2020. Don’t miss out the opportunity to contribute to the TCC-GSR and offer your expert knowledge on sustainable, low carbon transport. Every contributor will be mentioned in the acknowledgements section of the TCC-GSR, a report which is downloaded multiple thousand times. You will be informed about the progress of the TCC-GSR (development, peer-review, webinars, events etc.) and will have opportunities to engage in sustainable transport events in your region or country.
